Decrave Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 September 2026

1 About these terms

Decrave is operated by Useful Future Limited, trading as Decrave, a company registered in Scotland with company number SC874908. Our registered office is Office 1, Technology House, 9 Newton Place, Glasgow, United Kingdom, G3 7PR. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Useful Future Limited.

These terms cover your Decrave account, subscriptions and related online services, including service features accessed through our apps and website. They explain what we provide and what we each agree to do. You enter this agreement when you are shown these terms and accept them during account setup or another acceptance process. Any purchase also includes the description, price and offer conditions shown before you buy. Keep a copy of those details and your purchase confirmation.

The service is for personal use by people aged 18 or over. Decrave is designed to help you understand appetite pressure and make informed everyday choices. It is a general wellbeing service, not medical care. Paid subscriptions renew unless cancelled; our separate app-provided trial does not itself start a paid subscription. Sections 4 and 8 to 11 explain these points.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the law gives you and does not allow us to exclude or restrict. This applies throughout the agreement, including to purchases, personal data and any dispute.

Contact us at hi@getdecrave.com, through Decrave support, or at our registered office. Email or post can be used for complaints and legal cancellation notices; you do not have to use a particular form.

2 Apple and Google Play

For an app obtained through Apple's App Store, Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement applies. These service terms supplement that agreement; they are not a replacement or custom Apple EULA. We do not grant a second iOS app licence or impose a second iOS liability cap. If these terms conflict with that EULA on a matter it governs, the EULA takes precedence, subject always to mandatory law. Your statutory rights and legally binding purchase commitments remain protected.

For an app obtained through Google Play, the Android licence in section 15 applies. Your Google Play purchase and store use are also subject to Google's applicable terms. These terms do not reduce rights granted to you under the Google Play distribution arrangements. Google is not a party to this agreement with us.

App-store rules about billing, refunds and permitted use apply to the relevant store transaction. They do not remove responsibilities we have to you under consumer law. The App Privacy Policy explains personal-data processing separately. Accepting these terms does not itself give consent to health-data processing, AI disclosure or marketing.

3 Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter this agreement where you live. Parental permission does not allow someone under 18 to use Decrave. Please give accurate eligibility and account information and keep it up to date.

Keep your sign-in credentials secure and tell us promptly if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission. Do not share your account or use another person's account. You are not automatically responsible for unauthorised activity merely because it occurred through your account; responsibility depends on the circumstances and applicable law.

Availability depends on the countries, devices and operating systems we support. We will describe relevant compatibility requirements and material restrictions before purchase. You need a compatible device and, for online features, an internet connection. Your provider may charge for connectivity.

4 What Decrave provides

Depending on your plan and available features, Decrave can help you log meals, cravings, sleep and related context; explore patterns and estimates; and use practical information and suggestions about everyday food and routines. Some features use artificial intelligence, including Inara, meal-photo analysis and food-related explanations.

Our estimates and forecasts depend on the information available and are not measurements of your physiology or certain predictions. Food analysis may misidentify ingredients, quantities or nutritional information. Check packaging and reliable product information for allergens and other safety decisions. A photo or AI answer cannot establish that food is safe for you.

Decrave is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent a medical condition. It does not provide a clinician, medical monitoring, medication advice or emergency support. Do not use it to make treatment decisions, change medication or replace advice from a qualified healthcare professional. Seek appropriate professional guidance about your health, especially where eating difficulties, a medical condition, pregnancy or medication affect your needs. In an emergency, contact emergency services.

Decrave does not promise weight loss, a particular change in appetite or any other health outcome. These limits describe the service's intended purpose. They do not excuse us from providing the service with legally required care, quality and safety.

5 AI features and their limits

Inara is an AI system, not a person or healthcare professional. AI can produce inaccurate, incomplete, outdated or unsuitable answers, including answers that sound confident. Review suggestions in light of your own circumstances. Do not rely on them for urgent, clinical or other safety-critical decisions.

We use third-party AI services, including Google Gemini. Before sharing relevant personal information with an AI provider, we will provide the required explanation and obtain any consent required by law and platform rules. The App Privacy Policy gives details about the information involved, providers, purposes and retention. Avoid including another person's identifiable or sensitive information unless you have the right to provide it.

Outputs may not be unique and may include third-party material. You may use outputs made available to you for your personal purposes, subject to applicable law and clearly identified third-party rights. We do not promise that every output qualifies for copyright protection or that you receive exclusive ownership of it. Supplier attributions and links must remain where their terms require them.

Tell us about harmful or concerning output through available reporting controls or our support contact. Decrave is not an emergency reporting service, and reports are not continuously monitored.

6 Your information and content

You keep the rights you have in information, photos, messages and other content you provide. You give us a non-exclusive permission to store, copy, transmit, display and process that content only as reasonably necessary to provide and support the features you use, secure the service and meet legal obligations. We may permit service providers to do this on our behalf for those purposes under appropriate arrangements.

This permission is not permission to sell your personal information, use your private content in advertising or train a general-purpose AI model on it. Any additional use requires a separate lawful basis and, where required, specific consent. Copyright permission does not replace our obligations under data-protection law.

The permission ends when your content is deleted, except to the extent necessary for lawful retention and restricted backups described in the App Privacy Policy. Such retained content remains subject to the same purpose and privacy restrictions. Deleting content does not require us to undo processing that was already lawfully completed.

Only provide content you are entitled to provide. Suggestions you voluntarily give us about improving Decrave may be used without payment, but this does not turn your private logs, conversations or personal information into public feedback or marketing material.

7 Privacy and your choices

We explain our processing of personal information in the App Privacy Policy. Health information and some inferences about you can be sensitive personal data. Where we rely on explicit consent, we will ask for it separately from agreement to these terms and explain how to withdraw it. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Some personalised features cannot work without the information and processing necessary to provide them. If you decline or withdraw the necessary consent, those features may be unavailable. We will explain the consequence; this does not give us permission for unrelated processing. Where withdrawal affects a subscription, the cancellation and statutory-remedy provisions below still apply.

Optional device-health connections, optional location access and optional marketing are separate choices. You can use the relevant controls or contact us for help. Connecting Apple Health or Health Connect is not a condition of accepting these terms. We will not treat acceptance of a revised contract as renewed permission for an optional use you previously declined.

8 Plans and payment

Before a paid subscription is confirmed, you will be shown its total price, billing period, renewal arrangements, included benefits and material limits. A monthly equivalent for an annual plan does not change the amount billed annually. The purchase confirmation and specific offer conditions form part of your purchase agreement.

For purchases through Apple or Google Play, the relevant store handles billing under its purchase arrangements. We may use subscription-management providers to verify purchases and enable access. Those providers do not become the merchant merely because they help manage your subscription.

A subscription renews for the period shown at purchase unless you cancel through the relevant store before its renewal deadline. Follow the deadline displayed by that store. We will not increase the price during an already paid subscription period. Future price changes must follow applicable law, required notice and store consent rules. Any specific founding-member or promotional price commitment shown when you bought remains binding according to its stated conditions.

Do not assume that a purchase can be transferred between store accounts or that it includes features or platforms not listed in the offer. Contact us if a valid purchase is not recognised. We will investigate and help restore the access you bought.

9 Trials and AI allowances

Where offered, Decrave's app-provided seven-day trial gives temporary access without automatically charging you when it ends. Continuing with paid access requires a separate purchase. Trial eligibility, included features and any different offer conditions will be shown before you start. Reasonable account and device checks may be used to prevent repeated trial abuse, as explained in the App Privacy Policy.

AI access may have a usage allowance or fair-use restriction. Material limits, including the allowance period and what happens when it is reached, will be explained before purchase. An allowance is service access, not money or a cash credit, and does not roll over unless the offer says it does.

We may take proportionate steps against automation, account sharing or other abuse that undermines normal personal use. We will not describe a materially limited service as unlimited, or use a general fair-use clause to remove the ordinary paid use we promised. Changes that materially reduce paid benefits are subject to section 12.

10 Cancelling renewal and requesting refunds

You can cancel renewal through Apple subscription settings or Google Play subscriptions, depending on where you bought. Use the store account that made the purchase. Contact us if you cannot find or manage it, and we will help.

Ordinary cancellation of renewal generally leaves access in place until the end of the paid period. Earlier termination and a refund may be available under consumer law, the store's policy or these terms. Nothing here makes every payment non-refundable.

Uninstalling the app, signing out or deleting your Decrave account does not itself cancel a store subscription. Cancel renewal separately to prevent future charges. Conversely, cancelling a subscription does not itself delete your account or personal data.

You can use the relevant store's refund process for a store payment. You can also contact us about defective service, incorrect charges or other rights against us. We will investigate and cooperate with the store where necessary; we will not use its payment process as a reason to refuse a remedy that we legally owe you.

11 Consumer rights and cooling off

Consumer law can require digital content to be of satisfactory quality, fit for an agreed purpose and as described, and services to be performed with reasonable care and skill. Depending on the problem and applicable law, remedies can include putting things right, a price reduction, ending the contract, a refund or compensation. Contractual statements about AI uncertainty or interrupted access do not remove those rights.

For UK consumers, a qualifying distance contract normally has a 14-day cancellation period beginning the day after it is made. The rules differ between supplying digital content and providing an ongoing service. We will not treat downloading the app or accepting these terms as an automatic waiver for every part of a subscription.

If you expressly request that a service starts during its cancellation period, a proportionate charge for service supplied before cancellation can apply only where the legal conditions, including required information, have been met. The right to cancel a fully performed service can end only where the required request, consent and acknowledgement have been obtained. For immediately supplied digital content, loss of the cancellation right requires the legally necessary prior express consent, acknowledgement and confirmation. These terms do not themselves collect those permissions.

To exercise a cancellation right, send a clear statement before the deadline to our email or postal address in section 1, or use an applicable store cancellation process. Include enough information to identify the purchase. The optional form at the end of these terms may help. A statutory refund will be made within the legally required period, using the original payment method unless you agree otherwise and without an additional refund fee. For UK cancellation rights, this is normally within 14 days after notice of cancellation.

Consumers elsewhere keep any mandatory local cancellation rights, guarantees and remedies. A local right that is more protective applies where the law requires it.

12 Updates and changes to the service

We may make changes for identifiable reasons, including security, legal requirements, compatibility, reliability or improving the service. Changes to a supplier or the cost of providing a feature may also require a change, subject to the protections below. We will provide updates required by law, including necessary security updates. Please install them within a reasonable time after being told they are available and why they matter.

We will give reasonable notice of changes that materially affect your use. For a planned change that materially reduces paid benefits, we will normally give at least 30 days' notice by email or another message you can retain. If we cannot continue the benefits you bought for the remaining paid period, you may end the affected service and receive an appropriate refund for the unused period, without an exit fee. You also keep any broader statutory remedy.

Urgent security issues, legal requirements or events outside our reasonable control may make advance notice impracticable. We will explain promptly when we can, keep restrictions proportionate and apply the same consumer protections. We will not rely on these provisions to keep payment for a service we are legally obliged to refund.

Free features and clearly identified experiments may change, but labelling an included paid benefit “beta” does not remove your contractual or statutory rights. We do not promise uninterrupted access; we remain responsible for addressing failures to the extent required by law and our agreement.

13 Fair use and protecting the service

Do not use Decrave to break the law, threaten or harass people, infringe their rights, distribute malware, obtain another person's information without permission, or interfere with the service. Do not evade payment, trial or security controls, impersonate someone, or make misleading claims about your eligibility.

Do not extract our protected content or confidential systems for resale, or use automated access that bypasses controls or places an unreasonable load on the service. This does not restrict rights that the law gives you, use of ordinary accessibility tools, or legitimate access to and portability of your own information. Report a suspected security issue to us and avoid accessing anyone else's data or causing disruption.

We may investigate suspected misuse using lawful and proportionate measures. We do not impose an open-ended indemnity requiring you to pay all our costs or third-party claims. Any claim by either of us for a breach is subject to ordinary legal rules about responsibility, proof and remedies.

14 Restrictions and ending access

We may restrict or end service access for a material breach of these terms, serious security or safety risks, fraud, ineligibility or a legal requirement. Where practicable and appropriate, we will explain the reason and give you a reasonable opportunity to correct the problem. Immediate action may be necessary to protect people, information or the service, or where the law prevents prior notice.

You can ask us to review a restriction by contacting support. If we made a mistake, we will correct it. We will not automatically keep all prepaid money because access has ended. Refunds depend on the reason, service already supplied and your legal rights. If we discontinue paid service for reasons unrelated to your breach, section 12 applies.

You can stop using Decrave and request account deletion through the app or the account-deletion page. Deletion and retention are explained in the App Privacy Policy. Keep information you need before deletion or uninstalling; unsynced local information may be lost. We remain responsible for data handling and any loss to the extent required by law.

Ending service access does not remove rights that have already arisen, refunds or complaints, or lawful data-protection obligations. It does not independently cancel a store subscription or rewrite the applicable app licence.

15 Our intellectual property and Android licence

Useful Future Limited and its licensors own the rights in Decrave's software, branding and original materials, including protected algorithms and service logic. You keep the rights described in section 6. Open-source components remain subject to their own licences.

For the Android app distributed through Google Play, we grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual licence to use and display the app for your personal purposes, consistent with the rights granted through Google Play. Permitted sharing and other store entitlements remain governed by the applicable Google Play arrangements. This licence does not promise perpetual provision of a separately time-limited subscription or hosted service; those must be supplied for the period and on the terms you bought. Removing the app from distribution does not by itself cancel rights already granted to you.

Except where a licence or the law permits it, you may not sell, redistribute, modify or copy our software or protected materials, or reverse engineer them. These restrictions do not override statutory exceptions, open-source rights or rights granted through the relevant store. This paragraph does not replace Apple's iOS licence.

Access to our website and hosted features is for personal use in accordance with these terms. Owning rights in the technology does not give us ownership of your personal records.

16 Responsibility and third parties

Our responsibility is determined by applicable law and the agreements that validly apply to your use. These service terms do not add a fixed financial cap or a general exclusion of liability for health-related harm, personal-data loss or a failure to provide the service we promised.

We do not exclude or restrict liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. Your statutory consumer and data-protection rights remain intact. For iOS, section 2 explains the relationship with Apple's standard EULA; these terms do not add competing warranty or liability provisions.

We use suppliers to operate parts of Decrave and remain responsible where the law makes us responsible for their work. Independent services you choose to use, such as a third-party website reached through a link, may have their own terms. We will not treat every supplier involved in providing Decrave as an independent service to avoid our responsibilities.

17 Notices and changes to these terms

We may send necessary account, subscription, security and service notices using the contact details you provide or suitable in-app messages. Optional notifications and marketing can be managed separately. Keep your contact details current so that you receive important notices.

We may update these terms to address legal or platform requirements, security risks or clearly explained changes to how the service operates. We will identify material changes and give reasonable advance notice in a form you can retain, normally at least 30 days. A shorter period may be necessary for an urgent legal or security reason; we will explain when practicable.

We will seek affirmative acceptance where needed rather than treating a date change on a webpage as agreement. Changes will not retrospectively remove accrued rights, change an existing dispute or cancel specific purchase promises. If you do not accept a material change, you may stop renewal. If we cannot continue an already paid service on the agreed terms, you may end the affected service and receive the refund described in section 12, alongside any statutory remedy.

18 Law and resolving concerns

These service terms are governed by Scots law, subject to the mandatory protections that apply to you as a consumer. You can bring a claim in the Scottish courts or in other courts available to you under applicable consumer law, including courts where you live where that law gives you this right. This clause does not change the separate governing-law provisions of Apple's standard EULA.

Please contact us if something has gone wrong so that we can investigate and try to resolve it. Contacting us first is not a condition of exercising a legal right. We do not require private arbitration, waive your right to bring a permitted collective claim or prevent complaints to a regulator.

If a provision is unlawful or unenforceable, it does not become enforceable simply because it appears here. The remaining terms apply where they can fairly and lawfully operate without it. A delay in exercising a right does not automatically give it up.

These terms replace earlier Decrave service terms only when they validly take effect for you. They do not replace applicable store terms, the Apple EULA, binding purchase information or rights arising before that date. We will not transfer our obligations in a way that reduces your contractual or statutory protection. The privacy notice continues to explain processing; it is not an unrestricted power to change this contract.
